Is it any surprise that among metro areas with populations above 1,000,000, Washington DC has the lowest unemployment rate? The Wall Street Journal reports:
Among metro areas with populations over one million, Las Vegas had the highest jobless rate at 14.5% and Washington, D.C. and surrounding suburbs had the lowest at 6.4%.
That’s funny, because as my friend Carson is fond of saying, Washington DC doesn’t actually produce anything.
Vegas is of course a city built on easy credit and good times, so it’s going to take it right in the chin during times like these.
