Hi, I’m Brett Owens – and I’m a financial junkie.  My “problem” started incollege, when I got a little dose of the stock market – man, was I hooked…in no time, I was reading the Wall Street Journal religously.

After graduation, I also “graduated” to following less traveled publications, stuff you couldn’t find in the mainstream.  I then started trading commodities in 2005 – fortunately ahead of the big crowd – after reading Jim Rogers’ classic book, Hot Commodities.

Along the way, I’ve had a lot of fun – I’ve made some nice money, I’ve lost big too – and I’ve come to a couple of conclusions:

  1. You have to invest opposite the mainstream to make any money, and
  2. I really dig sarcastic financial coverage

So on this blog, I try to dig up stories that fulfill one or both.  I hope you enjoy, and that you’ll sign up for our free daily newsletter.

Finally, this blog is a labor of love more than anything.  My “day job” is running a time tracking software startup called Chrometa – we’ve got a really cool cutting edge app that captures your time automatically.  I really enjoy and benefit from the balanced perspective that I get in the day-to-day trenches of early stage entrepreneurship.  If only the jokers running our nation into the ground had similar types of experience!

How about a reduced rate on the Dividend Accelerator where you provide one recommendation a month. That gives the little guys, like me or my grandson, an opportunity to build wealth. Your subscription rate of almost $1000.00 is a significant portion of what we have to invest. What we have left allows us to only buy one LEAPS contract and be able to sell one put contract against it. Be a good guy and give us a chance to get started .
    Thanks for listening.

Hi Brett, I hope you are reading this . Do you have any clue how difficult it is to follow your Contrarian Outlook report advice when the supposed recommendations are really stable investments when MIC and CLNS are both down over 40 percent !!! I look at my portfolio and want to throw up. Please do a better job of research before I have nothing left.

Hi Brett, can you provide historical annual performance of your recommended portfolio? As with any financial service, I need to see the historical annual performance before I’ll consider any advice or service. Thanks.
