Cash-Stuffed Corporate Balance Sheets? Maybe Not So Much

Nice post and chart here by Mish Shedlock, who peers into the commonly cited “fact” that Corporate America’s balance sheets are stuffed with cash.  That may be the case, but they are MORE stuffed with debt – and total debt surpasses total cash.  You can read Mish’s breakdown here.

The biggest joke, I think, is the degree to which the huge cash hoards of America’s tech stalwarts – you know, the companies in the US that actually produce real products – are dwarfed by the cash on the balance sheets of the big banks and money pushers.  Some free market!

Also notable is the fact that Goldman – the insider of all insiders – has a HUGE stash of cash.  And GE, a company that Porter Stansberry has been highlighting as the next big bankruptcy, is way over its head in liabilities.  Let the GE bankruptcy (and ensuing bailout) countdown begin!

Hat tip Carson for the link!
