Here’s a very interesting interview by Omniture Co-Founder Josh James in a sit down discussion with Steve Forbes – you can watch the interview here. If your business is heavily involved in the internet (and what biz with a future isn’t these days), this is a great piece to watch.
James is a very smart guy, and he shared his insights for what’s coming down the pike. He thinks personalized advertising is the future, and that it’s just begun to be tapped. Google, the current king of targeted advertising, is in danger, he believes, if Facebook can execute properly. Reason being is that Facebook ALREADY knows what you should be searching for – hence they can essentially head off your need to search, by serving up relevant ads before you think you need them.
If you like this interview with James, I’d recommend you also check out the interview we conducted with tech guru and Grumby author Andy Kessler. Like James, Kessler peers 5-10 years into the future to see what the technology winners and losers will be. And ironically, in Grumby, not only does Google get its lunch eaten, but Facebook does too – by the “next big thing”, of course!
