I concur with their conclusion, as I haven’t yet seen evidence that the current political structure in the United States is even capable of shrinking itself. Gridlock is usually the best one can “hope” for – and it looks like gridlock is what we have now. (Though if you were rooting for system collapse, maybe you’d have preferred the Dems to keep control across the board).
Anyway things should now get quite interesting with regards to inflation and deflation. The Fed announced QE2 today – but will a Republican House soon step-in and put an end to future iterations of QE and stimulus spending…or at least create enough gridlock, giving deflation the upper hand for a little while?
